Yes, it is, but you have to try to get rid of the engine noise.

Your sig tells us all about your rolling stock, and not what you drive.

Yes, listen to EL. He knows what he's talking about....you may experience engine noise, as I did. Thanks to El, this was solved with a filter.

I bought this yesterday:

The sound quality is very good (almost CD quality), probably not as good as wire but I can easily transfer it to my 2nd car.

FM doesn't sound like CD... and it doesn't sound the same everywhere, either!

When I had a CarPC I battled engine noise to great lengths. The only way I was able to defeat it was to buy a DC-DC power supply. I'm sure someone makes one for laptops but it'll be expensive for sure.

Non Navi...I'm assuming this is a little tougher than I thought. Last time I plugged my laptop into my CD players aux input (aftermarket deck). Just that easy with a $10 cable from radio shack! So what do I need to do this!?!?!

Since you are non-nav and 04, you can use a direct SHOND3 plug-in interface as described in the FAQ section's thread on "Adding AUX Adapter".

I have those in stock, and they are available online. Send me a PM if you're interested.

I will NOT guarantee taht you won't have engine noise with this when the laptop is plugged into a cig-adapter charger - in fact, I almost guarantee you will. The solution to that is some combo of a GLI filter and an inline power filter on the cig adapter port you are using.
