ON A SUBWOOFER.

Whats up guys. Today I just put a down payment for a sub. I put it on a Diamond Audio M6 12" , The sub is $249.99 and If I change my mind I can get a differ sub.
Now with given 600 watts RMS at 2 ohm what is a better choice.
The Diamond Audio M6 12"
Or
Eclipse Alumiun DVC 12"

I really dont wanna spend $350 on the Eclipse, and the reason I am payin retail is casue its from a local dealer. I was also considering the JLw6v2, but everone has it. SO what do u think Diamond or Eclipse.
I Might keep the solo, but if anyone is interested in a single 12" L5 with a small sealed box let me know.

 

downpayment on a $250 sub??? How much down payment you put down?.... I never heard of puttin a down payment on subs b4...

 

I meant put it on hold. I am going on vacation and he isnt gettin a shipment from diamond for awhile so. When I get back I shall buy it.

No, I didnt consider ED. I wanted to get something from a local dealer just incase I blow it or something. I was just thinking woudnlt the metal cone wrap if it is put under alot of stress?

 

I always liked eclipse subs. I had two 12 inch eclipses in my last car and it sounded really nice, although two twelves were a little loud for my tastes, they sounded crisp and clean through all volume levels.

 

I just was reading more up on the EclipseSW8122DVC and it says it has 1.30" of one way excursion. I am thinking isnt that close to the W7? or not. Or is this a typo from Eclipse.

 

I wouldn't believe any T/S specs put out by any company without third party testing, specifically a Dumax report. It is easy to rig the test to get better results within the company. Ask Eclipse for a copy of their Dumax, if they say they don't have one, ask why not. It is the industry standard for testing. I remember JL put out the Xmax for their W7 has the longest when the Brahma came out. Well guess what, somebody sent in a W7 to the Dumax lab and had it tested. It was actually lower than the Brahma's.

OK just went on the JL website and the W7 12 has a X-max(one-way) of 1.15 inches. So tommorow I shall be given Eclipse Tech support a call and seeing if 1.30" is tru. And Also in the Eclipse catalog it says the woofer has the ability to pound harder than 2 woofer systems. OK so I am gonna search out the CL and the RSX forums of this woofer. Anyone know where else I can find reviews.
