I was getting ready to install my JL 10W6v2 sub into my Z and notice this rip in the outer foam.



I'm assuming that this woofer is toast. Am I right?? Kind of bummed out. I really liked the woofer. I picked it up used from a member on this board, but didn't get a receipt. So, I don't think I can send it back for warrant repair.

Yeah, that's not good.

I do know that you can get that repaired at a speaker repair shop. I wanna say the foam ring can be replaced for pretty cheap, maybe $25.

Is the speaker still under warranty?

 

 

were is the rip at exactly. u can maybe use black tape on the inside of the foam. Or some rubber sealent, a light coat should be good. First call JL see waht they say. They will try to help u out.

 

My 10W7 started to rip where the cone meets the surround....JL warrantied it...I had it back in 2.5 weeks.....just send it in!

 

Nicky what part of the sub did they replace u got a whole new voicecoil.

 

They re-did the whole thing!
