INSTALL PICS. 2003 CL-S. JL Audio CRAZY.

Guten Tag!

I recently had the pleasure of installing some awesome JL Audio equipment into an AZ members 2003 CL-S. The car belongs to Silvaccordex01. The install went exceptionally well considering the time contraints. I'm always up for a challenge! The fiberglass enclosure was already in tact from his 2001 Accord Coupe. It houses two 10W3V3's. Other JL Audio gear included ZR 6 1/2 front components, ZR 6x9 rear coax, a 500/1, a 300/4, a Rockford capacitor, Panasonic deck and all the JL Audio cables and connectors you and eat in a days time.

Thats mine! It was well worth the 3 hour drive from Portland to Silverdale, he gave me a great deal and did and awesome job. This guy definatly knows his stuff. Hes going to build a plexi glass cover for the subs (where the grill cloth is now) and the capacitor, but i had to wait due to money and time constraints. Thanks again Travis!

We won't mention the cost in which this particular customer paid. It should have cost around $1800 including the fiberglass enclosure. This incident was abnormal because I had to complete a 3 day install in 9 hours.

The fiberglass enclosure was already made too, it was in my previous car (accord) so that also helped alot. And it has two 12w3v3 not 10w3v3, just to clarify Thanks Travis!

I love the clean install, but I'm undecided if I want to lose my spare. Thanks for giving me something else to thing about. Your threads really help me with the best way to install my subs.

Why did you use a capacitor for that set up?

You use capacitors for alot of things. It helps Improves Bass Response (SPL)Increase the Peak Power of your Amp and Reduces Dimming Headlights. 1 farad is is good up to 1000 watts, 2 farats 2000 watts and so on. I have 1 because i have close to 1000 watts. Why couldnt you answer this travis, you knew when i brought it to you and you installed it. And why are you saying it cost you an arm and a leg travis? You just installed everything

He was being sarcastic about the capacitor question and joking with my comment.

I asked the question about the capacitor because I have the same 300/4-500/1 amp setup but uninstalled and never thought you would need one unless you was pushing higher wattage. Just trying to find out what advantage you could get with one for that system.

But thanks for the insight

You actually don't need a cap in that sysytem. The TL/CL battery and charging system is adequate enough to do the job unless you're running some crazy speakers that demand a large load. A better solution is a RED TOP battery from Optima, which this CL had. Usually replacing the battery is about the same price as a decent capacitor.
