Gauging Interest: iPod, Cellphone, Smartphone to Aux-in Cables

We're thinking of producing some cables for use with cars equipped with 3.5mm female Aux-in jacks. We will make cables for various devices such as iPods, PSP, Samsung jacks, HTC smartphone jacks, 2.5mm jacks, LG jacks, etc. It will basically plug into your MP3 cellphone/player on one end and then directly into the AUX-in in your car's stereo. It will give you a simple solution to play the MP3s on your mobile device in your car stereo equipped with AUX-in port.

What do you guys think?

Also, if we do make these, we can make two versions. Retractable or non-Retractable. Which one would you prefer?

Examples:

Retractable:

non-Retractable:

Make sure you install a ground loop isolator into each one.

You sure that's necessary? It wouldn't carry any voltage (power). It will carry an audio signal from your phone or mp3 player just like it carrying a signal to headphones.

These are basically the same as our current stereo adapters (below) but instead of having a female 3.5mm end it will have a longer wire and a 3.5mm male end to plug into your car's AUX-in.

By Aux-in, I mean the external ones not the RCAs on aftermarket/factor stereos. This is what I'm talking about:

Oh yeah. Very necessary with a car's electrical interference.

It will produce a cleaner, more reliable sound and the part will cost you a few cents.

Interesting, let me see if we can get one of each (with and without) and test it out with a blackjack. Thanks for your input!

Actually, I'm not sure a GLI is needed, since there's no ground loop involved if only the signal is connected and no power. I use a simple cable from Radioshack with my iPod and I've never had noise issues.

Some cars do, some cars don't. I'm just giving him some professional advice so that his stuff will work with everything with a little more certainty.
