That sounds wrong but my guess is as good as yours? Does the factory radio g=have controls for the Navi? If not , then i dont see where the discrepency is?

You can install any after market headunit and the Navi will still work fine, but you will loose the Navi video. The person who told you that you will lose your Navi is dead wrong and doesn't know what he is talking about!!! I hope this helps.

ok, so I have done this. You can have it done if you want the VOICE.

I have the aftermarket headunit, and I do not have my Navi Voice anymore. I didn't care to have it. thought the sounds were annoying.

Some Guys have put a speaker in the middle under the headunit to play the sounds. Your Choice.

But to answer your original question. Just replacing the factory headunit with a Aftermarket, you will loose the voice unless you mod it to work.

I dont know why the installer cannot come up with a way to retain the Navi-voice. According to the HELM, it should be easy to do so. Heck, you can even make a switch to turn Navi-voice on and off. Too bad, I dont have Navi to try it out and let you guys know.
