Indash bypass

yea i just purchased and indash, and i know of one alternative way to bypass it, which is to ground the break wire, but i was told it wont work w/ the jensen 9511ts. And they said i needed a switch to flip up and down before i can use it while driving. I was just wondering if anyone knew if this was true or not

That theory sounds like the new Pioneer bypass.. Not sure about the Jensen.

Talking jensen

yes it will work with the jensen, just use a switch with the pink wire (break switch) that comes off of the tv. and questions let me know.

found the manual online. basically you have to engage the parking brake for 2 seconds, release it for 2, and then leave it engaged so simply grounding the wire won't work. a switch will do it or you can try the automatic alpine bypass by pac audio (tr7).

hey guys i just installed my dual dvd in dash, and it has the same kind of thing as the jensen where you have to depress the brake then release then depress again, so right now i have the brake wire hooked up, just wondering if anyone could explain to me how the switch should be set up and wired, im thinking that the brake wire from the dvd player goes to one terminal of the switch and then another wire runs from the other terminal to the parking brake, is that how it works? sorry if this is completely stupid, im def a newb, thanks ahead of time

when you have the parking brake on, it sends a ground signal. bypassing with a switch means not having to tie it into the PB...just ground the switch and use it like the PB per the directions of the unit.

I dont know if this will work for you, but i have a flip out deck, and all i did to bypass it was i went to lowe's (home depot whatever) got a toggle switch for 5 bucks that had two wires already running from it, i connected one of the wires to the yellow wire that runs from the dvd player that says brake, and the other wire on the switch to a ground. My Dual dvd player has a sequence to turn off the warning, so all i do is use that same sequence with the switch...and poof, instant illegal driving and viewing at the same time

if you are saying that you hooked up a switch, and the dvd was playing for a little while then all of a sudden the warning screen came back up, then from what i know (which isnt much so hopefully a mod will correct me) it sounds like your ground maybe came loose or your connection is bad
