I want to keep my factory system as is. All I want is a couple subs to get a little bass. If i get subs and a amp do i need to take the headunit out? I really dont want to. Is there a way to use a step down to tap into the rear speakers? I dont know much about systems so thanks for the help.

Yes, you can keep your stock headunit. You will need an RCA converter which cost around $15. You can buy them at local audio shops or Radio Shack. Visit Silverknights website for more info on this.....

I would suggest getting an Infinity Basslink or something similiar, like a powered Bazooka tube. I believe both come with speaker level inputs that you can easily use by tapping into the wires going to the 6x9s in the rear deck. Some members of this forum have raved about the Basslinks - you can get a pretty good deal on eBay.
