how is your sub box attached

I have a q logic box for my 12...and now its just sitting loose. I need to mount it down but I can't figure out the best way. I went into a couple shops and asked if they sell clamps or something but they said no. WTF?

Whats the best way to mount it down? I was thinking of attaching a hinge to the back of the box, and setting it up so the box sits right on the edge of the piece that opens up to get to the spare tire...

any suggestions. doesnt anyone make some type of brackets to attach a sub?

Mine (1 - 12" MTX Blue Thunder in MTX box) fits fine in the cargo net!

Velcro can work if it will stay attached to your box (staples can help). This works ok if you want to keep the box from just sliding around on usual turns and such.

If you are like me however, I would still have the box flying around my trunk on those fast corners...so you have a few choices of securing the box to the car.

1. Strap it. This is the cheesiest looking way, but can hold the box in place quite firmly. Choose two points, and tighten the box down with a ratchet strap.
2. If you have rear strut tower bars that are near the box (e.g. closer than 3 inches) then use a bracket to attach the box to the bar. You don't want the box hanging from the bar, just attatched so that it can't sling around...
3. Bold to the car chassis. This is the hardest way, and requires either drilling holes in the car or finding some factory holes to use. Watch the damn gas tank...
4. Custom install

I strapped mine in with metal straps similar to plumbers tape (metal staps with holes). keep in mind that you cant see the straps because I installed a trim panel over the box so that all you see is the 12" subwoofer cone.

they came today...I wouldnt build a house with them, but they are definitely strong enough to keep one 12 in a q logic from tumbling around...

I always make sure there is nothing under where the box sits, pop out the sub and screw the box down to the trunk floor. Then put the sub back in.

Those are NOT strong enough. I used those in my Vette with a 10 Q-Logic box. They will break. The best way to use them, if you are going to, is to measure them and make sure the bottom of the bracket is sitting under the sub. Then screw them into the sub box. Use all of them!

make sure to take the sub out when you drill the holes.
