How to remove back 6x9s

I have tried but they seem really stuck. Do I need to pry the grill off or what? I would like to install my new speakers under the OEM Bose grill.

nope, pry off the grill is not gonna help. Wait till tonite when I get home, I'll post the instruction.

It starts in the trunk and involves the removal of the back seat too.

i'm not sure if this is what u're talking about......you need to first unscrew 2 screws for each grill from inside the trunk. these hold the grill to the rear panel shelf. when done, from the passenger cabin, pull or push the grill towards the front of the car then pull upwards....slowly but with pressure. this should remove the grill from the rear panel. to remove the 6X9s, remove the black foam ontop of the speakers, then there are 4 screws per speaker. they should be visible once you remove the grills. i would suggest detaching the wire harness first before removing the grill and speaker. hope that helps.

Also the screws on the back are hex top so you will need a ratchet.

I just bought a pair of (INFINITY KAPPA 693.3i) 6x9s. They are prob some of the best speakers for our back deck on the market. They take up to 330 watts and use a new technology for the speaker. Just do a search for that model. Crutchfield wanted 250 for the set and I found em for 145 on ebay. They is a really great Infinity BassLink 10" 200 Watt speaker available on there for 225 brand new. Just do a search for that as well. When u buy an amp for your new 6x9s make sure it has " speaker level inputs " as far as I know this means you can a tapped line in from the stock radio. Hope I was of some help. ----thanks by the way everyone for the info on taking out the back speakers!!
