How to install AMP/Sub and keep Bose Headunit?

Hopefully this isn't an idiotic question, but I'm assuming that there are no RCA In/Out on the stock BOSE deck correct?

I should have my 03 CL-S delivered shortly and most likely I'm going to be installing my Amp/Sub into the new car, but I'm curious how to do this if there are no RCA Ins/Outs? I'm not the greatest in the audio department so more detail the better!

Also, where is everyone for the most part mounting there Amp? Any pictures would definitely help as well and I think everyone in advance.

Try www.linkmeup.com. They make an adapter that plugs into the factory headunit, drops off RCA's and reconnects to the stock hardness. I used this to preserve Navi voice, steering wheel controls. Worked like a champ. I also replaced all the speakers at the same time as replacing the factory amp. This has to happen due to impedance of factory speakers which is a well documented subject in the group.

Thanks for those who helped me out...

Hmm...I've searched before too and maybe I missed (apparently I have missed) a few things...

I couldn't find any info other than the adapter? I'm able to tap into the rear speakers instead aren't I? Is this method (anyone care to explain the intricate details to me) as good as using an adapter (obviously it's not as clean w/ wires) and will it affect sound quality/longevity/anything else?

Hopefully I didn't overlook your link SilverKnight, but I couldn't find a direct answer to my question in your millions of responses/feedback and help. =)

uhh yeah...i bought the linkmeup adapter... and i personally think it sucks... it was a pain in the ass to install, and it gave me horrible engine noise... i tried everything...

then i went back to a line out converter from the rear amp and it works perfectly, no problems with tapping into the rear speaker leads.. just piggy back on to them with wire taps... don't cut...

and if you don't know what you are doing don't solder, you will just make a bigger mess.... other than that run your power, ground and get a signal sensing amp, it will save you the trouble of trying to find a good remote lead...

just my .02

03typeS-

Thanks a lot...I'll just tap into my rear speakers then. Just need to wait until the weather gets up past 30 degrees.

"Signal Sensing Amp"? What exactly is that...and if I don't have one what remote lead are most people using?

Where you'd tap the line in the trunk at the amp. I don't remember the wire color, but one of them is the remote signal for the Blose amp. Use that for your aftermarket amp.
