Here's an interesting v710 note

I just got this email from Moto:
<<Dear Dr. Krudop,

Thank you for contacting Motorola. In reference to your inquiry, Honda Accura has a different software for Bluetooth connection. This software is compatible with different phone brands and it is not Motorola OEM. They have a special division for Bluetooth Support which you can contact at 1-888-528-7876. You can find more information about this at:

http://www.acura.com/models/model_co...asp?module=tl#

You might have to copy/paste this link on your browser.

I hope this information will prove useful to you. If you have further comments or questions, please contact our Customer Care Center at 1-800-331-6456, we are available Mondays thru Fridays from 8 am to 7 pm CST.
You can also find informatio on our products and services at http://www.motorola.com/shop
On behalf of Motorola, we appreciate your business and we look forward to serving you in the future.
Best regards,>>

I called the Acura HFL number provided above...they told me that there is no way of telling until they receive notification from Motorola/Verizon as to whether or not the phone is actually compatible with the car.

How's THAT for a sour start to the weekend??

Sounds like the Motorola rep that emailed you doesn't know what he/she is talking about. Different software from Honda/Acura? ha. All it takes is a phone with headset profile via bluetooth to work with the HFL in the car. I would call and ask them if the V710 has the headset profile...not even sure they can answer that question since the phone isn't out yet but they should have more insight on it.

Do'nt you think it needs to have Handsfree Profile and not Headset PRofile to work with HFL. Having Headset Profile with work with BT headsets but not with TL HFL. If the phone is Handsfree Profile capable (with BT 1.1 ver I think), it will work with TL.

Mobilezen, are there any bluetooth phones that don't work with the TL and if so why? I have to admit this is now very concerning to me and could cause me to bail out of Verizon. This would be too bad since they have the best coverage in the N.Y. area.

As per Acura Website,

HandsFreeLink™ is compatible with Bluetooth®-enabled phones that are equipped with the Hands Free Profile (HFP). So all phones with just Headset Profile and NO HFP will not work with TL BT.

So far, just the Sony Ericsson P800 and P900...I think its due to the fact that it has such a large screen and they don't want to get a lawsuit about people staring at the screens, etc etc. I have also read that some people are having problems with Nokia phones pairing as well.

Wouldn't surprise me .......Acura seems to take their time updating the "infrastructure" of the site.
