Ok, i have a 01 acura Cl-s, and using an alpine headunit, a 4 channel jbl amp, running 100 watts to each component up front..and the back channels bridged to the sub in the back....Whenever i play a song with deep bass, when the bass hits the headunit will go off and on and yes, my lights are dimming too. So what do u guys think...my batter is less than a year old. What do u guys think? Alternator??

Also do u think if i switched to an amp that draws less power like a 3/5 that i wouln't have to change the alternator???

 

Have you tested the system with the volume up and no sub ?

I'd get a cap and see if that fixes your problem if not time to start digging deeper..

The cap may be a temp fix so if it does fix it I would still dig deeper..

Try a few simple tests (troubleshoot) to make sure it's a "power issue" and not a loose wire etc..

 

Disconnect the bass amp, and see if you still experience the same problems.

 

Caps dont stop your lights dimming.......
