Good Audio shops in chicago area

I need two xtant subs (already in box), an xtant amp, and a capacitor installed. The items have been used before. I got quoted $200 by tweeter, which might not be really bad, but I don't really want some 16 year old high school dropout working on my BMW.

Anyone know any good audio shops around here, who also install GUARANTEED used parts? What's a price I should expect to pay for the install?

You never know what you get with Tweeter. They did the install in my last car, and did a great job, so I recommended the place. The install was nice and clean, good quality work. My friend brought his Mustang there, and they did a $#!% job on it. They fixed it up afterwards, but I was pissed.

Apparently the guy who did my first install did such good work, he went on to the Home audio department. And this new kid was only there 6 months. I WAS gonna have him do my TSX, but that was before I knew how much experience he had.

I told them I wasn't gonna have it done there, but then they offered to have the Install manager do it. I met him, he showed me some of his work, he'd been doing it for 7 years, and he was confident and knew what he was talking about. Well to make a long story short, he did a great job, I have a great system, and my friend got a $400 gift certificate that he used towards the top of the line Pioneer.

Lesson of the day: Know your installer

Oh, and sorry, I don't know any installers in that area. But an install can get pretty expensive depending on who's doing it. After my friend's install, I started shopping around some recommended places. A lot of the Experienced installers charge by the hour instead of a flat rate. I've seen prices range between $65 and $125 an hour (hope I didn't give anybody any ideas). My install (2 amps, wires, comp & coax speakers) took about 6 to 7 hours (not including troubleshooting), so I was very happy with the flat rate
