Flush mounting 1" tweets in sail panels

I want to purchase a pair of tweets and flush mount them in my sail panels (the black triangle panel in the front corners of the windows). My installer doesn't think that there is enough room under the sail panel to flush mount a tweeter. Has anyone done this, and if so, how? Thanks.

Sure, it's just a matter of building the sail panel out slightly w/some body filler and resurfacing the piece.

you can but you will have to either surface mount it or like street said...refab a new one.

I could have swore that someone on here put Polk tweets in the sail panel flush mount and they fit. I can not remember who it was though. Most tweets would be too deep without going StreetEffectz route.

my friend had his surface mount focals put on the sail panels. looked really good and of course sounded good too. there really isn't enough room underneath them to do a flushmount though.

lies lies lies. to everyone that said it can't be done. I did it. i'll take the pictures this afternoon at work if needed. I put PG tweets in my sails and with a little inginuity they flushed right in without having to modify the sail panels at all.

EDIT: oops I missed the part that the tweets in question were a 1" tweet, that may get tricky. In my car i used the tweets from the comp set in the door
