hey all i have a viper 551t remote start added to my factory remote. problem im havin is the starter isnt cranking the car long enough for it to start. plus i think i was told if it doesnt start the car the first time that it should have like a 10second delay then try to crank it again. it doesnt do that. i got it installed at a shop thats no longer around and i dont have any instruction book. anyone know about this model or know where i can download an instruction manual. i think i need to change some settings

have you recently disconected the battery on the car? I ask becuse this is what it sounds like it is doing. the default setting on the remote start in question is for a crank time of 0.8 seconds. this ought to be more than enough time to start the car. but as you said it seems to try once and only once. This usually means that after the first attempt the brain on the remote start realized one of the protection guards wasn't working. Most likely it is the engine monitering feature. basically it needs be able to track how the engine is revving. take it to a shop that sells anything by DEI along with the reciept and they ought to be able to fix it in a few minutes.
