Finally Bought My System

I just signed the paper work, here is what it will consist of:

HU: Alpine CDA-7998
Sub: JL 10W7
Sub Amp: 500.1
Component front: JL XR650 CSI
Coaxial Rear: JL XR650 CXI
Multi Amp: JL 300.4
Cap: 1 Farad Siliver Monster Cap with dig readout

Completley custom installation in the trunk, false back with a forward firing 10w7 behind plexi, each amp will be horizontal on each side of the sub enclosure also behind plexi, amps will be backlit when amps are powered on. The false back will be compeltely flush, its kinda hard to explain but im sure you get the idea, I will post pics when finally completed. It should be in about 3 weeks. Needless to say it cost a pretty penny, but I am real excited!

Well with every possible expensive, including lights, wiring, materials and custom labor, and an 8 percent tax, it came out to $3400, I didnt get the best deal but I ended up with 15 months no payments, no interest, and everything is purchased from an authorized dealer, so if I have any problems it wont be an issue.
Ill give you an itemized account of the products:

10w7 $439
500.1 430
300.4 430
compoent XR 275
Coaxial XR 97.98
Farad 130
lighting rods 60
HU 700

Obviously there is still wiring and installation to inlcude

How come your not a big fan of the HU? apparently it is one of the best sounding HU's out, and the display is awesome, I wanted to put the IVA-900, but just couldnt afford an extra 1200.

Honestly I couldn't tell you. I mean I know it is a great HU for sound processing, as it is an Alpine and most all of their high end hu are nothing to joke about. but aesthetically something about it doesn't sit right wth me which is why i think i don't like it. Like i said though I would rather see it installed before i really render a verdict about it.

Oh I understand, I feel that way about manu HUs. The reason why I like it so much is the oversized display, there is so much space because of he sieze of the stock HU, that to put a standard 1 din unit woulnd look right, I really wanted put a TV, but maybe down the road Ill upgrade.

god dang i will be running a similar system... but ill get all jl speakers on all mtx amps...just asking why didnt you go with the 13w7? thats what im really looking for... i got vr csi's in the back and im going to get xr650 csi in the front and im thinking of getting that 13w7... and a crap load of dynamat... im going to need another cap for the amps i got 1 right now but ill need one for the mids and highs (1 farad cap should do i hope) and maybe 2 farad for the bass (i think it will be an 8100d) but you are getting it all done by someone else i have to do it all myself... good luck with everything and you got a hella good price on your stuff.. i dont know if it varies in price in diffrent places but the xr here in bakers, cali the cheapest i have seen is 290 and peaked out a little over 350... you got better prices then what i have seen around here... congrats and you will be happy with what you just got... maybe soo happy you will have to carry a clean set or undies with you (just incase the bass makes you bust a nut or 2)

Well i chose a 10w7 because i wanted tight bass and didnt want to eat up alot of trunk space. The box will be slot ported, so from what Ive heard the output of the 10w7 in a slot ported box is amazing.

I just got back from the place now, and am tweaking some installation things, it is all getting done nov 29th and 30th. So now I have to wait . But my installer told me he ran 2 eclipse 12s in an 03 acura tl, and didnt even need dynamat, because the car was so solid. So hopefully that wont be an issue for me.

i got 2 alpine type r's in the trunk they are only 10''s with a 400watt fosgate amp the trunk shakes way too much... i was at work and security was walking around and he told me that my license plate looked and sounded like it was going to just fall off and he said that the trunk lid was just trembeling like hell... not just to prevent rattle its suppose to make it a little louder as well... seems to me like a good idea.. just do the trunk and if you see a diffrence let me know... im just going to throw everything in at once... dynamat first and then the big boy stuff... to let you know i dont have the $ to get the w7 so im going to use 3 12's that im buming of a friend he is also passing me over the mtx amp.. and im going to head out to get my xr's soon... give me about 2 weeks... im surprise you have to wait so long though... keep me posted on your car when its done... ill take some pics of my stuff when i get it in.. late...

Just added the Alpine MP3/CD changer, Nov 25th is the big day/

Im having the metra dash kit done custom, the pocket will not be there, it is filled with plexi and will be backlit and will say Type S, the rest of the kit is getting custom paint to match the blackwood inserts as we speak. I cant wait to post pics. It hard to explain, but the pics will speak for themselves.

wow....that sounds impressive....where did you put the 2 flip downs?...if its inside it seems kinda redundant since you have headrest and visor screens....alos did you install headrest in your backseats or soemhting?

Alpine CDA-7998 is only $546 if you do a search through yahoo, but if you're not paying for over a year, I hope they didn't add $150 to every component. but I'm sure you will get a quality install. waiting for Pics
