External cooling fans anyone

Well I was pounding hard as crap for a good amount of time today. And all of a sudden my amp shuts off I check it out and it's pretty hot flashing red light. So let her cool and she is back up running hard. I have this attwood turbo 3000 blower fan I've had for years. This guy I met had like 3 on a double air intake honda civic these were on the side hooked in and he had em on a switch he swore it mad the car faster lol. But anyways I am thinking of putting it so it would blow air on the amp possibly making it cooler. Thoughts? I know it would draw some current but oh well. here is the beast

also just thought I'd add I plan on running a wire from my batt on a switch not on the remote wire as that would burn it out.

Yeah, it should help... If you can get ahold of 2 or 3, that would be better. Do 1 pushing air over it, and 2 pulling air from it. Also, if you can see the direction that the heat sink is trying to move the air, that would be the best direction to direct the air with the fan(s). Another thing you might want to do is make sure that the amp isn't laying on the floor of the trunk. Try to get some air flowing underneath the bottom of the amp. This should help the overheating problem...

It probally will work, those things usally make a lot of noise.use the 80mm or 120mm computer fans that come with ccfl lights on them.take the lights off and use the fans.there only 3/4" thick and dont draw much power at all.just use 2 .one on each end.both blowing the same way.

Check on the botom of this page for the fans I'm talking about.http://www.crazypc.com/products/case...ng.htm#ccflfan dont know how close you are to shelby...but If you dont got extra cash I have a couple of extra fans that have never been used.I just used the lights that were on them for my devil eyes. You can have them if you make the ride.
