Eclipse Double DIN - DVD Player Code

One of my friends just bought a used car with a 2454 Eclipse double DIN head unit w/ screen. When we put a DVD in there, it asks for a "Parental Advisory Lockout Code." He doesn't have the code, and the dealer he bought the used car from doesn't have it either. Anyone know what the default code usually is?

Also, is there anything else he needs to ask the dealer for? I heard some of the Eclipse decks have a CD protect feature, that forces you to insert a certain CD, whenever you disconnect and reconnect the power. Is this something he has to worry about?

Thanks in advance.

I think he's screwed. If you don't have the CD code, you need to call Eclipse. They'll give it to you, but you'll need to the guys name that bought, his address and the store he bought it from.

No, the parental DVD lockout code is NOT like a security code.

I don't know their default code but it should be in their OM all right.

First off, it MIGHT reset if you pull power from the unit. (Then of course you might find out abou the real security code : )

He ended up getting the DVD code from the car dealership he bought the car from. He really lucked out that they still knew the code.

Thanks for the help anyway Eld...and...Dark Inspire
