Talking Finally, I got my system installed!! ** LONG **

After several months of debating on what to buy, where to buy it from, where to get it installed.....etc, I finally got it done yesterday. Couldn't wait to take pictures with my digi-cam so my cellphone will do the trick. Hope you guys like it b/c I LOVE it !!!

Alpine CDA-9830 Headunit - I sanded the metra kit as well as painted it with some flat black paint but it came out horrible. Stupid paint starts to come off so I'm getting myself another kit in less than a week. The place I got it installed will match the factory dash color for free of charge. (AWESOME!!)

Alpine MRD-M350 Mono Amp - They mounted it to a cardboard which was added to the backside of my trunk to avoid any more drilled holes than what was necessary. Looks clean !!

JL Audio 12"W3V2 in a sealed box - I had to go with single sub to conserve some space in trunk.

As you can see, I wasn't going for any hardcore customized setup. I just wanted something simple and clean that would add more bass to my system and this was EXACTLY what I was looking for. Since I often carry golf clubs around, trunk space was very important to conserve as well as that grille on a sub to prevent any scratches from hardcore-driving that I sometimes enjoy.

I know this setup might not look much to those basshead or ppl looking for SQ, but this is ENOUGH for me. I think I spent well over my budget and seem to think I got what I was looking for. Single 12" is more than I can handle and this HU rocks!!

** Question ** So last night, I decided to burn some CDs with mp3 files in it. One's working flawlessly but the other one, I chose to 'finalize it' when I burned it and it's not playing. When you burn mp3 CDs, are you not supposed to finalize your cd? I only did it b/c it was almost to its max capacity. Help is much appreciated.

** Much thanks to elduderino for all the information that I needed to complete this system, and Ed (I'm Batman) for finding me a great installer in Atl,GA. Cartunes sure knows about sound system!! **

when you paint that metra kit...you really have to let each coat dry for nearly 1 hour and do at least 3 coats to have a very good finish. I went too quick at first also, and the paint started chipping off - I just got paint remover and took it all off and did it again (you dont need a new dash kit).

actually i was totally oppsite. I let it sit there for like a day or so before I applied another coating. Anyways, paint started chipping off when i took it to installer so it looks horrible. I called crutchfield and they are sending me another one for free of charge. I'm just gonna take it straight to installer and let them deal with it. I guess I can't really do anything. haha

hello baboya96
Yes when you burn a CD the disc must be finalize or the CD will not play. I use Nero and burn in the CD-ROM(iso) mode.

not true...i listen to open session CD all the time in my car. I think the CD is just f'd up or it wasn't a successful burn. shit happens sometimes, just try burning again without topping out the capacity.
