Easy to run RCA cables from AM HU to amp in trunk?
Easy to run RCA cables from AM HU to amp in trunk?
I got a pioneer DEH-8500MP installed awhile ago but they hooked it up to the rear speakers, which means that the built in high pass / low pass functions in the head unit are essentially useless. I want to run a pair of RCA cables to the amp from the sub out on the HU, but I'm not sure how much work this is. I'm guessing I'm going to need to take out the rear seat, and take apart the dash / center console. Is this a project thats too big for a beginner? I haven't even installed a HU or anything before.
if this sounds like something you can do at home pretty easily anyone have any tips? It looks like the cd changer installation guide on this site might help.

this is a simple install... yes you will need to take apart the console to get to the back of the radio but once you have the rcas plugged into the back of the radio just route them around the passanger side.. then down the side try to run with the stock wires that are already there.. yes you will also need to pull out the back seat... but all in all this is a very simple install....
