Hey guys. I have decided I really don't want to spend more than $400 on a headunit. I am currently intending to buy a Clarion DXZ855MP, the touchscreen model. But, I have really wanted to get a dvd player for my car. I was wondering if there are any dvd players with flip out monitor included for $400 or less, obviously used. What is most important to me is sound quality and I want clear sound going to my speakers so would a dvd be a bad choice?

Also, I have a 97 acura 2.2cl. In the center panel, there's 2 spots, one for a cd player, and then another kind of free spot. I was wondering if I decide to go with the clarion, if later down the road I could put a dvd player into that "free spot" and have a free standing monitor at the top of my dash that would be fully functional of course. if you do find one at that price, it will most likely not be name brand or it will be screwed up. Pay the extra $200/300 and go for a used name brand

 

For that price.. eBay or a refurbished unit online..

 

What about my second question tho, if I decide to go with a high end unit right now, can I put a seperate dvd player in that open spot on the center console under the stock cd player? Right now, it's jsut taking up space and really isn't functional. Is there a way to take that out and put another unit in there? Remember, I have a 97 2.2Cl. thx

 

I have a 2nd gen CL so I'm not 100% sure if it would fit or not.. can't help you on that one.. I'll try and do a little searching for you though..

Or maybe ask in the 1st gen CL section..
