DVD in Dash units---E Brake ?

Do most audio shops really follow the rule sabout how they can only install it, so u can watch DVDs when the E Brake is on, or do they give u the option to install regularly, how hard is it to bypass it, if they install according to rules

its pretty easy to bypass. my install guy did it without me even asking. he just said if somehow I got in trouble not to rat him out and say I did it myself.

most shops will bypass the e-brake deal for you, at least shops I have dealt with.

There is a parking brake wire that needs to be grounded. Just ground that one wire to a chassy ground and you're good to go. Put a switch inline and hide it, you can flip it on or off.

yah, i dont think many shops actually hook that safety feature up..i mean in reality, navigation should be illegal as well....it is a moving screen in the view of the driver...not too many cops at least around me care.

depends on the brand of the headunit you are trying to install... if it is alpine, you need a component to over-ride the e-brake, but if it is any other brand (i.e pioneer) you can just ground a wire and you're good to go...

Kenwood is just a ground too. All the shops around here insist on hooking it up the right way...they make you sign wavers and all. But how hard is it to pull the brain, HU and make the adjustments yourself.

if you're going to take it apart to ground it out yourself after the installation, why not install it yourself?
