adding an aftermarket HU but keeping the stock HU

I initially want to install a Pioneer AVH-P6500DVD with a metra kit, but is there a wiring harness that I use to run straight to the factory amp?

If not, I want to take out the note slot, and replace it with the AVH-P6500DVD and plug a blitzsafe adapter into the back of the stock so I don't have to use the metra kit and a special wiring harness.

What do you guys think? I still have the use of 6-dish in-dash stock HU along with the DVD/MP3 receiver monitor on top.

I've checked out that thread, but I was wondering if I decided to fully replace the stock HU w/ the Pioneer, is there a speaker wiring harness/adapter that goes from the aftermarket HU, to the factory amp?

have you already purchased the P6500DVD?

if so, you're going to have one hell of a time trying to make it fit in the note slot. i bought the AVX-7300 without dvd player, and was barely able to fit it in there by physically cutting the unit in half.

I plugged in a ps2 to the input, routed the audio through the blitzsafe adapter to the stock HU. I'm not sure how you would go about routing the audio from the P6500DVD to the HU, and which adapter to buy.

PM me for more pics.

I believe Silverknight has a template for trimming the bottom portion the climate control to allow more room...if that's possible, than cool.
