Double Din Install Kit and NAV audio questions.

I have a couple of questions that I have been searching for the answers too.

First does anybody know of a company that makes a Double Din factory Stereo replacement Kit??? I'm looking at installing a Pioneer DEX-P9 and CDX-PD6 in place of the factory radio. I have used the factory head unit for way to long!!!

Second for any of you who have replaced the factory stereo and have NAV. How did you get the NAV sound to work with your new head unit??? I have a couple ideas on how to do it and I'm also working with a local car stereo install shop on some of them. I just wanted to see if you guys have a quick and easy solution that doesn't cost much!

Thanks you all for your help in advance!

Matthew

I was just wondering if anybody had an ideas I could try or maybe some answers?? Just thought I would try again!

Thanks,

i would be interested in a custom faceplate for my premier 930 & in-dash cd-changer. someone had mentioned a local installer that was willing to fabricate several of these. he planned on offering them to board members.

What type of MB quart speakers do youhave? Is it a component? Did you have to do anything to make it fit in the car?

In the front I QM 218.61 Q component speakers. In the rear I have PKC 116 2-way coaxial system.

The MB Quart speakers come with pretty much everything you need to do the install into a 2001 CL. In the front the only thing I had to do was cut part of the factory tweeter housing to make the MB Quart tweeter fit. The woofer fit prefect! In the rear I had a local stereo shop make a custom plate to fit the 6 and half inch speaker in the 6x9 hole. MB Quart are great speakers!!!

Awhile back I was reading a thread about a possible Car Stereo Installation Kit from www.jltroy.com for the 2001 CL's. I emailed them to find out if they were making a kit.

Here is my email.

I'm a member of the acura-cl.com forum. Awhile back I heard that your company was developing a Car Stereo Installation Kit for 2001 Acura CL's & TL's. I was wondering if that was true? If so when do you think it will be ready and what would the price be? Would it be a double din or single din kit? Thanks for your time!

Here is there response.

Installation kits are in development for these vehicles, however the kit manufacturers tend to rank development time based on popular demand. 2001 and 2002 have presented quite a few challenges in high demand high volume vehicles for the kit manufacturers so their time has been spent on these applications. Fortunately they are beginning to get back around to lower volume vehicles like Acura and Lexus vehicles. I don’t have an eta, but I would expect something by the end of the summer. I expect these kits to be versatile thus allowing single, dual, and double din installs.

Thanks for the inquiry,

I haven't purchased it yet, but I'm going to buy the Pioneer Premier CDX-PD6 six disc changer. Right now I'm still using the factory HU and it sucks!!! You can hook up two IP-Bus devices to the Pioneer Premier DEX-P9. So you can have a six disc in-dash changer and the XM control unit.
