Doing some custom electronic installs, need help

How much current can be safely passed through a 22 gauge wire...

IF 250 Watt amp kits come with 8 gauge that is 20 amps, then 16 should be able to carry 10 and 32 can handle 5? Does this sound right? So 22 gauge can handle 3 amps???

thanks.. I will post pics soon...

i wish i remembered. there are charts that explain that stuff

ask your question directly...what are you trying to do?
why not give it a try and see what happens with the 22 guage

I would try to stay around 2 amps or under with 22 guage wire....it will get hot. If you want to use 3 amps, fuse it right at the source, but I would increase the wire size in this case just as a precaution.

ok, one more question, when you are using a relay, one of the 4 pins is the positive pin, one goes to the thing you want to switch power to, one is your trigger pin and one is ground. IF i just use +12 for the trigger, and have the other pin grounded, how much current does that draw? or is it none, and the difference in voltage is what triggers the relay to switch.???

definetly try to stay under 2 amps or 1oowatts because 2 gauge is fairly thin, anyting more try makin it thicker
