Do you have more than one video source?

For those of you with back up cameras or more than one video source... what kind of video switcher are you using to flip between sources?

Is there something that will switch automatically or with a relay?

My screen have a input for the camera. You could be a switch for video source. It's a lot easier than audio switch. All you need is a DPDT switch or DPDT relay.

Good luck.

I have a poor man's switch on my rear camera, which is no switch at all. It's unplugged cause I [never] use it, but when I show off the camera, I plug it in and of course two video INs conflict when both are ON so I have to stop the DVD player.

Otherwise I have an S-video hookup for the laptop computer, too.

This is my camera. I drilled a hole in the center brake light and poked the camera lens right thru. It can barely look out over the spoiler but it looks nice. The image on the Navi is reversed and it's pointed more skyward. Otherwise if I could do over I would drill a hole in the license plate instead.

I use the remote on my TV Tuner, which hooks up to the Navi screen. Video 1 is for DVD, Video 2 dedicated backup camera, Video 3 is for the PS2.

Shifting to reverse overrides everything with the backup image including the Navi screen.

I'm really torn about this tv tuner.... sounds like the reception leaves a lot to be desired, but having a remote video switch sounds good.

Maybe someone will leave one at my doorstep so I don't have to make the decision myself. :P

Funny you should post that... I have one of those (not in the car) but there's really no place to put it and make it look very good.

I think I might just buy some relays, and put some button switches like yours near or on the steering wheel to control it.

I've never looked at the base of the steering wheel before... is running wires to where your switches a problem with the wheel turning and all?

That may be a problem, since the PESWIX adapter uses the factory wire. You may want to pop the question to Ron since he knows a little better what's under the airbag. He took out the airbag to see if he needed to thread a wire down the steering wheel column.

Uhmmm. Maybe not. Perhaps I'll put them near the steering wheel instead.

Thanks for the input!
