Sealed or Ported....

ok i have 1 12w7 on its way to me now and want to know what enclosure type i should use... i listen to mostly hiphop and rnb with occasional techno or house.... but mostly hiphop.... so with these factors and space not being an issue should i go with a ported enclosure or a sealed enclosure....

How much power are u sending to that beast. Ported will do u good for the hiphop. If you have enough power just go wit sealed.

I think ported would sound much better. I have a heard ported boxes and they sound well in the car, deep bass and hardly any rattle from the outside of the car. Me personally would go with a ported box.

a ported box doesn't produced sound on some frequencies while on others its really loud.. I've heard a song in my friends car with ported and then in mine with sealed.. you miss a lot of the beats with ported

ok how bout this from an audio specialist's point of view. do ported only if ur pushing those puppies to their load because if the box is done right it will thump at any frequency and not miss any. sealed if ur underdogging them. and thats it, good enough?

Follow the manufacturers recommendations for their sealed enclosures. Unless you want a booming trunk that announces your presence to every pedestrian, sealed tight bass is way crisper than ported
