Car would not start! now radio says "code" Help please.

Hey guys, So I drove home the other day, parked car in garage, then had to go back out about 30 mins later. The car would not start or turn over at all. It finally started. the yesterday it would not start at all again after filling up at the gas station. Several attempst with nothing. I did find corosion on the positive terminal of the battery and cleaned off best I could.--still wouldn't start. A few minutes/attempts later the car started just perfectly. Now the radio says code and will not play any cd's or the radio at all. Any suggestions? Thanks much guys.

You need to punch in the security code. It may be written inside the owner's manual or the folder that the manual is in.

If you don't know it or can't find it, the dealer can unlock it for you.

ok. I'll try to track that down and try that. Any idea why the car would not start at all? There was NO power whatsoever. Thanks for the response...

Were any lights on when you tried to start the car? Any sounds?

No. Nothing at all. It was completely dead. then a few minutes and several attempts later, it fired up immediately as it usually does.

i checked that... it seemed to be on tight but there was quite a bit of corrosion. I cleaned it off, but it still did not start at first.

Cool

If you cant find the code, you can call the Acura Dealer, and make sure you have the car VIN, give it to them, and they can give it to you. They may tell you they cant, but they can, I did, No problems.

You can also try registering at:

http://owners.acura.com/landing.aspx

When I logged in there, all my car info was available, including radio and/or navi codes.

Not sure, but you may need to call Corp Cust Service to get registered.

Thanks for the help guys. I found the code and got the radio reset. BUT, now the cd player will not work. the door/flap that opens to allow loading or ejecting cd's is open and it just flashes an error code at me whenever I try to do anything cd related. sucks, cuz there are cd's in there right now. any suggestions or experience with this problem? thanks again guys.

Unplug the car battery and reset the radio

There might be a reset button on the radio some where. Maybe a tiny hole you need to stick a paper clip in.

You might be seeing a jammed CD problem. Search the forum for a pile of possible fixes. One possible fix is to smack the dash near the radio. Another one involves sticking a nail-file or the like in the CD slot.

Also, if your starting problems continue, consider a possible ignition switch problem.

Another fix seems to hit right at the "A" on the radio.

I used to use another CD to get stuck CDs out. Basically play with the eject button while sticking the spare CD to help with ejection. Since CDs are plastic, seems less obtrusive than a nail file or something with a sharp edge, or striking the assembly.
