Yea, I have a 12" alpine type x and a alpine v12 amp. Im asking if any of you guys have installed a system in your 2004-2005 TL and use the stock head unit. One things how would take out the head unit?????

i installed 1 12 inch JL W7 in a HL box with a jbl 1200 1 channel amp in my 04. I ran the power wire straight from the battery to the amp, remote turn on went from the fuse box, Had a HI-Low converter that tapped into the rear speakers and then to my AMP. Sounds great and Hits hard. Good Luck with your Install

don't cheap out on a high level converter, you will regret it.
Buy a good one, don't buy no cheap radioshack one.
As well if you amp has one built in, don't use it, its worse then the radio shack ones.

 

where do you get high-end level converters?

 

any good car audio store, try independant car audio stores, try to avoid big box stores.
