Can I install aftermarket head unit with Navi?

Can I install aftermarket head unit with Navi?
I am wondering if I will lose voice command if I install have my Kenwood KDCX817 CD Player installed. I know with the Maximas you can keep the navigation working but you lose voice instructions if you install aftermarket CD player because there is no adapter. Is this the same for the CL-S w/navi?
