I went to my local Car Stereo shop (very reputable) to get a new system put in my '04 TL because the current system just isn't enough for me. Here is what I'm getting:
(2) 12" JL W3s
(1) 500/1 mono amp
(1) JL component set
Dynamat trunk
installation and accessories

I was told that I need a Blitzsafe part to ensure that the new installed items will be integrated correctly with the current system in the TL. This is supposedly so nothing messes up the current navigation, door locks, lights, etc.

Has anyone ever run into this problem? Is it a must to have this part for the integration.

Never heard of any part needed to install a basic system like you're talking about. We've done several TL's with no additional parts.
