nice!
nice one! I had the same speakers but did not have the tools to make the spacers. did you have to cut into the door at all? Would you make me some spacers for some $? I really wanted to use the cdt components but was forced to sell them
How do they sound?
How do they sound?
thanks for the replies guys..
TLBaller,
The spacer is 3/4" which is the same size as the factory spacer, so putting the door panel on is not a problem at all.
NautralTLS and wth718,
They are the classic series CDT's: cl61's, cl-6x's for the back (although havn't put those in yet). I wasn't sure myself if they would fit because on the CDTaudio website, the woofers are rated as being 2 13/16" deep, while all there other woofers were rated at 2 3/4". I believe they actually are 2 3/4" but there is a rubber cover around the maget that you can remove to reduce the top mount depth just slightly. I actually measured the speaker as 2 5/8" (2.625") without the rubber cover. And this just cleared the window with a 3/4" spacer. ALso, as you can see from the pics, I didn't have cut any metal off the door.
I'll have some pics of the actual speakers that i'll post tonight after i get home..
Neil,
they sound fantastic. The amp is pushing around 75-85watts RMS to each speaker and they really move ALOT of air. They don't disort at all even at full volume, crystal clear. I'm sure they can handle much more power. And i havn't even put on any dynamat or anything as of yet. Also the tweeters are still just sitting on the floor, not yet mounted.
My GF couldn't understand why i spent so much time doing this "stuff" to my car, but even she agreeded these kick butt after she heard em..

Sorry I didn't read this post too closely before. Yeah I can make the spacers for you out of wood if you like. It will work fine especially if you use the CDT's (no door cutting involved). You just have to give me a few weeks I've been really busy with stuff recently.
Just PM me.
thanks..
