Yeah, that headunit would look nice in the TL. Too bad its only for Japanese cars. Note that you cannot receive XM radio or U.S. analog radio with this HU.

i have done a little more research on this headunit and found out that it will work perfectly with the us standards all you will need is a $75 adapter to inable it to pick up the us stations... and it will work great with any other us alpine product such as cd changer, xm radio, etc.. but i still dont know if it is worth $1200....

So the ability to have XM radio is due to the HU having a CD changer input with text display? I guess marketers want you to believe that you have to buy a newer model to get XM. I've heard of people who have Sirrus capable HU's converting to XM, but I didn't know that any HU (other than the FM modulated option) could work with digital radio.

xm should work on any radio that has an aux input... if the headunit is xm ready then that just means that you will be able to control the xm unit via the headunit instead of a remote (but you will still need the xm unit sold seperately... ).... but as long as you have a aux input then you should be able to run xm on it...
