Amplifier problems.

Hey everyone,
I have a sort of a problem that rarely happens but when it does it bugs me the whole day. I have a 500/1 Jl amp and a Jl w3v3 12'' sub. Sometimes when im on the road the bass just completely goes out and i check my trunk and the green light for the power on the amp doesnt go on but i can still basically hear about half of the bass playing.
What is wrong?
Wrong wiring?
Not enough power?

so the amp does stay on????....or doesn't.....sounds like maybe a loose wire connection, or maybe even a bad fuse inder the hood......if your using the small, glass cylindrical ones, they can desolder sometimes, not making enough contact within the fuseholder, causing the amp not to turn on
