If you do not know what remote turn-on wire is for, I really think you should pay a shop $45 to have them install it for you.

Guys......I have my pwr wire and ground wires set. I took out my rear seats and I took the BOSE amp out. So which one is the remote wire? I see a blue one and two orange wires. Does it matter where I splice em?

And for the stock sub, I disconnect the two ends (+,-) and I just connect the four wires to my AudioLink Lineout Converter? Please respond soon. My rear seats are out and I can't drive it till I'm done. Thanks in advance!

brotha maaaaan

what your gonna do it get the + wire for your new amp from the battery

the - is ground. so you find a factory ground point and use that. there is one behind the plastic panel at the rear of the trunk

the remote wire is blue, or orange. i keep forgetting damn it. that wire is behind the back seat, at the factory amp

as for the signal wires, your going to look under the rear deck and tap into the - and + from there (going to the factory sub). make sure you dissconnect them

ya follow?

I think one of you just emailed me and I just responded with an answer.

The blue one is the remote turn on wire. You take the signal going into the subwoofer and use that signal to your line-out converter. However, you CANNOT take out or disconnect ANY of the wires going into/out of the factory amp, or else, the signal going into the wires to the factory sub will not be there.

ok wait wait!...lemmie see if i got this right.....

if i wanna add an aftermarket sub and amp....

this is what i THINK i have to do

1) in thr trunk disconnect the stock sub from the car...those 2 little plugs...(the + and the -)

2) rip out the back seats..expose the stock amp

3) disconnect the stock amp(pull out the plug)

4) take the wires that are going towards the stock amp and cut em..( the pack of wires that have the thick brown wire etc..)

5) connect the signal for the sub to my amp..which are the wires i just cut...( i think they are the green and black ones with a singe stripe)

6) connect the remote ( blue or orange?)

7) connect the power for the amp directly to the battery with a fuse

8) hook up my aftermarket amp to my aftermarket sub

9) done?

please if i've done something wrong can u please tell me? or correct me it's very important...

Dude, here it goes:

1st Run the power wire from the battery straight to the trunk of your car.

2nd Find a good ground in the trunk, scrape off the paint of a metal part in the trunk and connect the groud wire.

3rd Unplug the signals going into the factory sub and use those signals for your line-out converter.

4th Do not disconnect ANYTHING to the stock amplifier, just tap to the blue wire for remote turn-on for your amplifier.

Hope you know what you are doing. If you fry your eletrical system, you are fvcked.

You are not going to use the factory sub. You are merely going to use the signal from it to feed your amplifier so it gets the signal to your aftermarket sub.

I gave up after I took out my rear seats. I went to circuit city and they installed it for $75. It is definitely worth it! If they mess up, they will cover the cost. If you mess up, then you're f-ed. It defnitely wasn't worth all the time I wasted. I can do regular systems, but I would never do a BOSE system again!

The installer used the orange wire as a remote wire. He said that one will definitely keep my ALPINE V12 amp on. He said that some amps need more power to turn it on.

I also disconneted the stock sub and took it out. That way, the sub in my trunk can travel better through the opening.

Good luck!

Glad to hear that you had your system done. Isn't the orange wire a constant 12v? Isn't your amplifier on all the time then?

Cool

Is the orange the power wire, then, if it is on all the time? Why the heck wouldn't it be red? Should just have red power, black ground, blue remote, and then the signal wires. Why would Bose make it so confusing? And, if you do take the signal wires out of the factory amp, and use them for your new amp, won't the factory amp still come on whenever you turn on the stereo, but just not have a signal? Is that smart to do? Why not unplug the remote wire, too? Sorry for all the questions, I just want to install my system, and started venting. :-) Oh, another one: If I wanted to have a multi-amp system, could I take the signal wires going into the factory amp, run them into an Audio Control EQX-2 crossover/eq? Probably too simple, and Bose would find a way for it not to work...

Play nice.
