Amp problem!
I was driving the other day and for some reason my amp cut out. I was turning up the volume but nothing too crazy loud wise.
I realize this is kind of ambiguous but I guess what I am looking for it was type of problem could cause this to happen while driving. All connections to the amp (Hifonics Brutus) seem fine and the fuse by the car battery also seems intact.
Normally the amp lights up when the car is on, but now it is not lit up.

Check the fuses, but I have the same amp, and sounds like you just tripped the protection. Mine comes back on after I shut off the car and turn it back on, Also maybe try turning your gain down

It's been a couple of times turning the car on and off. Where is the fuse for the amp and how do I adjust the "gain?" The "hifonics" letters usually light up but they don't even light up.

There are fuses on the side of the amp, they're usually orange or green
also see if the red status protection light is coming on, it should be green, but i'm guessing it's not on at all (blown fuse) or red, problem with am

If you are using an AGU fuse. (round, glass, with gold ends) you may have melted the solder from the contact points. try a new fuse there like 2 bucks. For your amp to turn on it needs 3 things. 1 constant power ( fuse under hood) 2 Ground ( Chasis bare metal) 3 remote power ( 12 volts when radio is switched on). Make sure you have all 3 of those requirements. lastly check your fuses on the amp itself(if these are blown youve got problems). also if your sub is fried and down at like 0 ohms(dead short on the coil) your amp will protect itself. unplug the sub and see if that helps.

AGU fuse melting solder was the exact problem. Nice cheap fix! Thanks!
