Amp Pre Out Question

I have an 04 TSX with an Alpine MRD-M301 Amp pushing a single 12. I had the rear 6x9s tapped to the speaker level inputs on the amp. My question is, if I want to add an amp to run my mids and highs, can I use my current amp's pre out as the signal for the new amp. I think the answer is no because the 6x9s are crossed over, but I just wanted to make sure. Does this make sense to anyone??

Yes, it makes sense.

No, you can't do it.

Please see my post re: adding preouts to the OEM HU:

Thanks, so if install it like you say would it be advisable to run the sub amp off the other amp's pre outs and remove the speaker taps? (ie. will it sound better/different)

Should sound a little cleaner and maybe go a little lower. Can't get any worse - speaker leve is the worst kind of signal there is.
