Amp Install question..
hey guys,
Have a few questions regarding amp install in a TL. I have a 2000 Navi, and want to install an amp since i am getting new speakers next week. I'm keeping the radio and have already done the EQ bypass.
My question is which wire should i use for the remote turn on lead. I've done a search but most people were installing amps for new subs, and using the remote wire from the sub amp.
I want to run the a 4 channel amp with 4 new door speakers, so i am probably going to run a 4 channel LOC.
Question 2 is what's a good place to ground the amp in the trunk. Anyone have pics??
thanks..

my memory is a little hazy so i can't say this is 100% correct, but according to DEI's wiring info, use the white w/ red stripe wire for your 12v switched power (remote turn on). as fo a place to ground the amp, right now i have the ground for my amp on the roof of the trunk (more or less a temp solution given the odd setup i have sitting in there). best place I have seen though is on on of the diagonal beams that you will see if you remove the back seat.

Where is that white/red wire. Is it behind the radio in the harness for the radio wiring? Also is it switched with the radio on/off or with the ignition on/off..
thanks..

I am getting ready to change out my factory radio and I keep being told I need a bose interface since I am not changing out the speakers, etc. Is this true? Did you do a bypass?

if you change out the radio, you will need teh wireing harness. the down fall is you will lose the factory sub, and no you will not need to bypas the eq. i have a aftermarket headunit and used the harness for the accord.

ok to kill two birds with one stone:
the wire i refferred to above is the switched power for the radio, it is essentially an accessory wire, which means it will cut off momentarily during cranking.
As far as changing the radio to an aftermarket one all you need is the wiring harness for a 98+ Accord, you will lose the stock sub, as mentioned above, but you will not need to do any for of a bypass since the bose eq is built into the factory h/u and the speakers themselves are 4ohm speakers.

Scott,
Which harness is that wire in. That's exactly what i need for a remote turn on..
thanks..
snowj,
that might be because you want to keep the bose speakers. I strongly recommend replacing those bose speakers as well. Most anything aftermarket you buy will be far superiour to those blose crap in there now. Even if its with something fairly inexpensive..
