6x9's for a '01 CL

I have been looking around this forum for a while and doing searches but cannot find the answer to this question. It might just be me. Anyway I am going to be upgrading my stereo in my '01 CL and am looking for a decent pair of 6x9's that will fit in the factory slots with relative ease. I have a component set for the front and have a RF 80x4 rms amp. I will also be upgrading the HU. Any recomendations for 6x9's would be greatly appreciated? Thanks

If you feel you absolutely need rear speakers, go with Boston Acoustics NX97. They have a small magnet which allows them to clear the torsion bars.

That's not a bad idea but I already have the other amp, Eclipse Cd8445 and the CDT-61's ready to go in. I just need some good 6x9's now or I might add a subwoofer instead and just use the 6x9's for rear fill(running of the HU). I depends on how good of a 6x9 I can fit in there. I've got a Eclipse 12 in a ported box from my last car and it is very impressive for only 300W.

Any other info on what 6x9's fit? I am not in love with the Bostons mentioned above.

Also, why the hell dosn't Crutchfield have any measurements on our cars? Are we not good enough? LOL!

Thumbs up

Just a quick update

Decided not to go with the rear fill at all.
i installed the CDT CL-6's in the door with no prob. It was a relativly simple install. Used MDF rings for spacers, and sheet metal screws, mounted them right in the factory location. Tweeters went right into the factory location also. I used a small amount of epoxy to hold them in. I cut out the factory grill for the tweet b/c the new ones already have a grill and having both would be overkill. I will try and post pics.

Anyway they sound great. I have about 80W rms going to them. Mid bass is great and the highs are extremly clear. This is my first set of comps so i really have nothing to comapre them to but, I could not be happier. I hope they get even better after they break in.

Just wanted to let every one know these speakers will fit and sound real good in our application.
