the 6X9s would fit... but you need a bigger bracket, were you trying to use that POS platstc one that was there for the bose? Cuz you need to get a bigger one and then it would fit, or at least thats what needs to be done in the TL.

he was talking about the 6.5 for the front. How did the 6x9 get in the picture?

Not all 6.5"s are the same size. Some companies measure the actual driver diamerter while some companies include the mounting brackets in the size. I am currently selling a set of rockford fosgate oversized FNQ2614 oversized 6 1/2 will require some minor cutting for a CL and a set of RF 6x9s(direct drop in) on the black market..Both are NEW in the box.

you could make a special mount to mount the speakers on...that could take care of it if you do it right...

It will fit. Email Sigs21. He has the 6.5" quarts installed. There is some modification necessary to make them fit htough..so you know.

My installer put a pair of Boston Acoustics RC620s in by cutting the back off the factory door mounts and putting a water baffle over the speaker. Since there's approximately 3" space behind the speaker, this gives you enough room to mount most 6.5" units.

Don't forget to order a replacement speaker basket for when you replace the car, though!
