4 Ch Amp for interior speakers and mono for subs?

Good setup? Or just a mono for the sub and no amp for the inside?

amp

Thats what im in the process of doing now.

instead of the EQ and factory amp bypass im just pulling the bose speakers from my TL and running new wires. Just in case i choose to get rid of the car the wires arent all chopped up.

I may be wrong but if you use components you cound just use 2 amps. One for the subs and another 4 channel for your components providing you can disable the amps crossover feature.

what about the tweeters in the dash, how would those 2 wire up into a system that already has 2 mids and 2 6x9's in the back? wouldnt you need a 6 channel amp?

It doesnt matter, if u are running spekers both front and back, u can benifit by adding a 4 channel amp to power the speakers. Unless u have really low wattage speakers, then it may not be benificial. Add another amp for the sub and u are done.

Most components will wire up front a crossover. The Xvoer will have output for mid and high, so u really dont need an additional channels, unless u are biamping the components.

There are very few 5 channel amps, but if you dont need insane power then you may want to look at the JL audio 500/5. I got on ebay for around 600. 25 per front, 100 per rear and 250 for sub (think those are the #s, maybe 200 reat and 50 per front been a while)... Had it in my integra till wreck.. but awesome amp (very heavy/durable). Will see in a while how durable(ripped out of the deck material in the truck during my accident, snapped fin off. not sure if guts got messed up).

In general, personally I dont think froma sound quality standpoint you would ever want not to seperately amp your speakers from your head unit. Granted the expensive head units are prob as good as many amps, but my own opinin would be to amp it.
