2005 TSX Options Include "Audio Attachment Kit"

I was looking at the 2005 options on www.acura.com and it appears there are some new options. I can't find an explanation of them (the new ones are still not listed under "Build & Price") but one sounds like it *could* be a dealer installed auxiliary input (fingers crossed).

- Engine Block Heater
I then started thinking maybe it was always there, and doesn't mean what I think, so I looked at the old 2004 version of the page on www.archive.org and it's definitely new:

So, does anybody have any more info on this?

According to the local Acura dealer it's the kit you need to add the mp3 player. Could be wrong, but could be right, too. The attachment kit is not called "audio atttachment kit" on the instructions, though.

I was afraid it might be something like that... but then again, if it's a separate part, could it be useful for anything other than the OEM MP3 player?

I really want to have RCA inputs, so I'm not locked into any particular audio source.

See the FAQ page on the SHOND. The Blitz is the same now, comes with the harness so no Honda part needed.

I think I've read up on the AUX input options.

The Blitzsafe one for Navi seems like the best solution.

I guess until people start experimenting, it won't be known for sure about '05 compatibility, but what do you think the chances are of it working, and not interfering with XM radio? The link states factory XM must be disabled. Is that only if the XM is the dealer-installed one rather than integrated?

Considering you can still add a Cassette or MP3 player from Acura without disabling XM, in theory it should be possible. I want AUX input and XM!

Since it seems as though the XM is built into the headunit and not a seperate auxilary attachment, it makes sense that the AUX inpus should be available. Like Mega said, they have to have a way to attach the cassette player or other accessories to the stereo.

I think the SHOND or Blitz should still be the way to go.

i would really like to see if anyone can figure out what exactly is needed to get the factory integrated XM radio into the 04 TSX. i already asked my parts guy at Acura and he couldent really tell me what was needed. i cant help but think its a simple HU swap or some dapter Acura now sells. i would really prefer to get my not an ashtray back and make it stock again withthe Xm built into the system the way the new 05 TSX is.
worst case ill just trade the car in next year for the 05 model since i leased ill be doing that anyway.

Id be interested to know the same thing. Hopefully once the 05s arrive, people will have a better idea. Youd need to swap the head unit and get the antenna. other than that, i don't know what else is missing.
