'00 Trunk install advice?
Howdy all!!
Just bought a '00 TL, it's awesome!!! http://www.acura-tl.com/forums/newth...wthread&f=28#I want to install a trunk mount mp3 player, and based on my research the Blitzsafe AUX adapter seems to be the interface of choice for changers/players. If I repeat questions I apologize in advance:
Did Acura pre-wire power/connectivity from the HU in the trunk?
If no power is readily available, what's the cleanest method to run power to the player?
Where do I find a navi / changer bracket to mount the unit?
What's the best cable path from the HU to the trunk?
Thanks in advance.

Why do you want to put the mps in the trunk? I would either put in an aftermarket c.d. player or hide it under a seat or in the glove box. I don't have my TL yet so i don't know about space under the seats or in the glovebox, but that's usually what i reccomend. (i'm a car stero wholesaler)

Use a Blitzsafe adapter. I went RF, and now am having to switch it (because it sounds like sh it). I'm trying to use the adapter as auxiliary, and keep the control panel that came with the changer.
Since you have to pull the dash apart anyway, you can take power from the large connector in the back--mine has a schematic printed on the bottom of the HU.
There's also HU-switched power in the trunk at the sub amp. (Behind seatback, passenger side). Hard to get to without pulling the seats--but that only takes 5 minutes.
My changer only had one cable to run to dash, and it was easy to just slip it under the kickpanel covers, beside rear seat, into trunk from top back of seat.

MP3's are super heavy! they have to go in the trunk.
i'm a dork.
I have an head unit that plays mp3 cds. I highly recommend it. Its super convenient. A friend blew a bunch of money on a hard drive that hold mp3's and it is really slow to transfer.
