Anybody who's anybody in car audio, do you know if this is a good amp?? I'm thinking of getting 1 10" or 1 12" JL W3v2, W6v2, or an Infinity Kappa PERFECT. Theres one on ebay for $220 and I'm thinking of buying it. Please let me know!!! The auction ends in 10 min!!!!

If you can give me ANY other input on GOOD amps, name them all, please! I know JBL, JL, Phoenix Gold, and PPI are good, right? Are there any others? How about MA, or Kicker, etc??

I really dont know anything about amps or whatever. If you have one sub, can you only have a one channel amp? What if you had a 4 channel amp, or a 2 channel? And how do the whole ohms thing work?

And with our car (CL-S), if I wanted to upgrade the speakers and get a new amp, would I need a 4 channel amp? What about the tweeters, what powers them? I'm so clueless when it comes to this stuff.

Anyways, so back to my questions, I really need help with this. Basically as of right now I'm going to get an amp and a sub, that's it. I'll stick with the stock HU and the stock speakers for now. Now how do the channels and the ohms thing work? I'm looking to spend about no more than 5-600. On ebay, you can get one of the above amps for like 150-300. The infinty perfect is like $130. The W6v2 on the other hand is a little bit more expensive. I need help choosing what to get. If anybody has any good advice on good shit to buy, please let me know!

The JL W6V2s are awesome subs. I'd say get a 10 or 12W6v2 and a good clean 500 watts....like a JL 500/1 and you'll have more than enough bass! I have a 10W7 and a 500/1 and it sounds like 2 12"s.....easy.

thats too much money...a 10" w6v2 goes for $239 on ebay. A w3v2 goes for $130 though? Is there THAT much difference from the two? And to get a 500/1 JL amp, its like $389 brand new, or $340 used.

Is a 10" w6v2 worth the extra $110 over a 10" w3v2?

What about an Alpine Type-R? Or the NEW Alpine Type-S?

or what about the Polk MOMO sub in the custom enclosure?

I'd say its worth the money.....go to JL's website....the 10W6 has 60% more output than the 10W3.......so technically its like almost 2 10"s.....although 2 10W3s off of a 500/1 would be nice too!

Dem1K, get 1 10" W6V2, if you like to have trunk space. Also, look into the Kicker L7 solobaric sub, its much cheaper than the JL, if you match that with the Kicker 600.1 amp you have in your other post, it would be a perfect fit...both are sick subs....

I've heard about the L7's, but I dont like the look of em, plus I trust JL. Ive used them before, so I'm goin with them.

Tell me which amp would be THE best to get. Remmeber, I want to stay under $270. I'm leaning towards the Kicker and the Alpine, however I'm unsure which? Someone told me if I could, get a used JL 500/1, however I'd rather have a new? I dont know if having used audio equipment is bad? Hit me up, thanks!
