Wallpaper Images - Share Them Here

*** Mod Edit ***

Please create, post and share your 4G Wallpaper Images here. If you have an image and want to convert/format it for 4G Wallpaper, post it here and ask for help and/or advice.

I know there are some creative people out there - show us what you've got.

*** Mod Edit ***

Hey guys, I've uploaded some of the wallpapers I've been keeping in my TL. They look UNBELIEVABLE in the car, especially at night. I always see people trying to look in my windows to see what's on my display. Big props to the creator of the images, Ryan Bliss of DigitalBlasphemy.com. Been a paying member of his site for close to 10 years, and it's the best $15 I spend every year. The pics are all .jpg, and are 800x480 resolution, and should not need to be reformatted at all. Right click the ones you like, select Save Image As, then save to a folder on your computer. Then put it on a thumbstick and transfer it to your TL's HDD. If you want the full .zip file, here's the link:

http://public.me.com/jonhide

Enjoy =)

Sky Song

Reverie

The Beach

The Distant Mountains

Forest

Flight of the Hammerheads

Before the Storm

Moonlight

Night Beach

The Ocean

Midnight Trooper

Thetis Moon

Winter Tree

Vortex

Very cool post, thanks for sharing Hydro. Oh, if your on a Mac just grab the picture and slide it on the desktop, no need for all that clicking.

Nope, I'm a Windows boy all the way =)
Since I stopped doing web pages, I have nowhere to host a file permanently anymore, so I asked my brother to use his Me page lol.

I'm really sorry to hear that...I run XP with BootCamp when necessary for business stuff, I don't know how you guys deal with it on a daily basis? I love the Mojave experiment commercials! Showing people how to combine pictures to make on big picture is pretty cool... Nevertheless, thanks for the great post! I just wanted you to realize not everyone is on a PC.

Oh I know it buddy. I was a Mac hater forever, until a few years ago when my brother got his Mac, and I actually used one. It's a great machine, but I'm a true hardcore gamer, and Macs just can't do it as far as that goes. The computer I've built is off the wall. At least until next year, when it's outdated lol. Such is the life of a PC guy =P

Ah the gamer, then there you go. That's the only platform for you then. I wonder how PC games would do in XP on BootCamp, considering the complexity of the drivers and crossover platform stuff? The video on the Mac is sick as you probably know, but I only push it with Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro and Logic Pro on the Mac side.

This TL screen is pretty darn bright and sharp, but I have no reference to compare it to as this is my first car Nav screen deal. People say it's brighter and better than the 3G screen. I'm glad it's not an LCD as I hate the characteristics of LCD. They list it as a VGA, but it's really a super VGA given the clarity and high contrast results. I wish we had a few choices on the font display as it's pretty middle of road "BOLD" and bulky looking. The color options should be customizable too, but still loving it!

I'm really not up to snuff on Macs, and for all I know, they can play games like Crysis and Far Cry, and I just never heard about it. I don't see why you can't run the games through boot camp, but if you don't have SLI/Crossfire, or at the very least a current gen video card, it'll be a no go.

As far as the navi, I think it's LCD. And you actually can customize the colors. It's buried in the options screen. Offhand, I think if you go into whatever the screen is where you upload the wallpapers, there's an option there for colors. There's red, blue, and brown. The red is awful though, and the blue is cool only on certain screens, but on the Audio menu, it displays the track info section as a kind of purple, or very harsh blue, so I took it off. And the brown might look cool with the umber or parchment interior. I liked the default settings best (black/white/silver). Changing the font would have been a nice touch, but the default one is OK for me. I've seen much worse lol.

The NAV screen is not LCD, thank God, it's a 8" VGA (video graphics array). LCD displays have trouble displaying uniform color, from different angles and heights, the VGA doesn't.

thanks Mr Honda - photoshop? which effect? - I saw several images somewhere on this site (3G?) I think they were intended to be used instead of the stock start up screen.

- much better than my limited PS skills - When I took those pictures I was trying out my Circular Polarizer filter for the 1st time - allowed me to get good pics out of the harsh light of mid day - b4 I would have to shoot w/ the dawn/dusk light

Yea, I love that one! I love hammerheads so that will definitely be my wallpaper. I saved it so when I get my TL I'm all set. Sphyrna is actually the Genus name for hammerheads.

Wow so you're a super shark lover. Me too man. I'm a certified PADI diver, and every year I go to the Bahamas (I own a timeshare there) and go shark diving =) Haven't seen any Hammerheads, but PLENTY of Mako, Reef, Nurse, Lemon, and Tiger Sharks. You'd absolutely love it =)

Here's a new one I just put in my TL to celebrate the 5 inches of snow we got today. Put it in last night so that as I was trudging through it all, I could look at the screen and be on the beach. Enjoy =)

Yea, I'm a super shark lover. Have a degree in marine biology and wanted to study sharks. Have a hammerhead shark tatoo on my leg. I'd definitely love to go shark diving. I haven't dove in years. Was on a dive in Australia and went to kneel down in the sand but realized it wasn't sand below me, it was a Wobegong shark. Quickly inflated my BC to avoid it.

Hydro it's amazing, the only pictures I like are cold and wintery! It was 80 degrees yesterday, and today was absolutely perfect! Visibility was 25 miles, at least! The wind is still moving so no smog in LA for the past 4 weeks! I need a frickin' real camera!

Speaking of leadfoots, I can't keep this TL under 80mph, I'm bound to get busted sooner or later! I just downloaded Trapster to the iPhone, I hope it works!

Not that I can use 'em, but some of what I'd put on screen:

Augusta National #10:

Barnbougle Dunes, AU, #15:

Cypress Point, #17:

Royal Melbourne, AU, #18:

I think they are formatted correctly - jpg 800 x 480

Great thread, I've been inspired to shrink some of my favorite desktops for my wallpaper. I pick up my SH-AWD on Monday and I'm VERY excited to start playing with all the gadgets.

Question: When is the wallpaper displayed? Is it behind everything but the nav map? Is it only on when the system boots up? When music is playing? Of course these are things that I'll discover when I have the car in hand.

So from a sci-fi geek, here are my additions

STAR TREK

Battlestar Galactica

My current desktop

Dream Car

you save these images onto your computer, put these files onto your usb drive, plug it into the usb adapter in your car, go to setting and select import pictures from your usb drive. done.

That is weird. After you plug it in and select import pictures from the setting menu, it should be able to detect the files. Maybe try to make your files smaller? Each of my wallpapers is only about 200-300 kb.

Yeah, it can't read certain thumb drives for whatever reason. I think it's a formatting issue with the drive (ie is it FAT32, NTFS, etc.).

In order to make the pictures, as you asked earlier, put your favorite picture into a picture editing program like Photoshop. Then crop it to be 800x480 resolution, and that's it. Transfer it into the car and you're done.

On another note, WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYY does the TL only let you keep 10 wallpapers?? Whose stupid idea was that anyway?
