I'm going to look for a hotel in the Arboretum area (north Austin). I've stayed at the Embassy Suites there, it's $139. They do not have any covered parking.

I will see what I can do, I have a friend that works at the radison as well, I will see what group discount would be. Did we already cover the Marriot or Hilton convention center? Im lost and cant read. IF we did no worries, if not, they both offer garage parking, no valets if you dont want. Theres also one off 12th, same way. I will call tomorrow and hound some people. Will have something firm by 2ish. After I kick my acura dealers ass tomorrow

Laquinta 92.00 night/2 full beds/Valet opt 12.99day

5 blocks from 6th, non-smoking rm, free internetz pron, fitness, breakfast. You will need to park on the street... if the lot is full or you aren't paying for the optional valet. This rate is good on a 10 room min. I have stayed here before. Valet is nice and the street isn't too bad.

Okay guys lets make some event steps of things that are going to happen:

1) Arrive either Friday evening or Saturday morning for whoever.
2) Saturday morning meet at a location we need to set and time.
3) Hill country drive
4) Lunch
5) Group Pictures (Barton Creek Mall maybe)
6) Check In Hotel for those who arrived Saturday
7) Clean up, Clean cars
8) Go Party downtown 6th street or Cold River maybe.
9) Go back to Hotel and hit the hay
10) Sunday pack and leave Austin after Breakfast.

But really need to set this guys. Silver, Trance, lets see what we can do.

sounds like a pretty good plan.

lets keep that roll call updated with accurate telephone numbers. communication is crucial and could be the falling point of organizing a meet like this.

Okay, Mark, and Ethan, maybe we should have a conference call this weekend again? Let's talk and really set this in stone so we can all agree. The La Quinta in is a cheaper and not that far from Downtown either. Or we can go somewhere else if needed. All I know is we only have 3 weeks left plus a lot of holidays in that time frame. I do plan to drive up on Friday evening though and spend Fri and Sat night in Austin.

I understand the busy part. Like I mentioned, I got audited and now I owe a large sum of cash to the IRS due to my CPA screw up (which he is no longer in business). So I had to prepare for that and left the new site die at the moment. I plan to start working on it maybe this weekend again and get it online somewhat.

At the rate we are going I better just book a hotel on my own. The longer we wait the more $$$ it is going to cost.

I think booking only 1 hotel under a group rate would be great if everyone was down with it. It would be a lot more efficient if we leave it to each chapter to coordinate a hotel and departure time good for it's members. It'll be best if each chapter gets in touch with it's local members on the confirmed list.
Set up a quick meet and decide; 1. Hotel
2. Departure(those who want to cannonball)
3. Chief(Contact person while in ATX)
Once this is decided, conference call each chapter and set in stone final schedule. When departing, hand each member schedule or by phone if not present. This will allow those not able to leave same time or bringing a "significant other" can choose what they want to meet up for. I believe Jan. 8 would be a good date to have this done by. I know SA can have this done by next week.

Chris, awesome idea. Ok guys. I talked to Chris aka el Chile grande, and we decided that to get this group rate at the La Quinta Hotel, we need at least 10 people to say yes. Everyone respond. I told him I am a go for booking one with Chris and we are going to call the rest of the SA guys as well. This needs to be finalized. I would like us to be all at one hotel, but I don't plan to wait till the last minute either to book it.

I take it that this is for service, so in that matter, do not call Paul or AD, rather Mitch or Gregory, and tell them that the Harcourt's sent you.

Whens back to school weekend in Austin? I plan on going down with my friends then because our Frat usually throws parties on 6th all weekend long, so I'd definately stop by during the days at least. Not to mention back to school is pretty big in Austin so definately not a better time than that to do a meet!

Okay, so not the first two but the second two? I usually deal with Dave, but I will take anyone that will actually look at the damn car, its a simple navi issue and I think it would be easily repaired.

ok, so this may sound a little , but how about each of us print out a little bit about our rides - mods, year, mods, color, mods. I would be very interested in checking out everybody elses customizations (is that a word?) by just looking at the car and reading the window.
