Update: Called the Iron Cactus downtown and they need to charge to one credit card to reserve for our group. I'm not going to go through that process to collect everyones money. They also require a special group menu which I'm not going to limit what you can eat there.

So the plan is:
We will still meet at the Iron Cactus, upper deck, to start off our evening for dinner and drinks for those that want to do that. Or If you want, just come in and hang or just have drinks. We can make plans from there to go walk 6th St if we want but with a large group that will be a challenge no matter where we go.

The Iron Cactus has no problem reserving the upper deck at this time so we should not have any issues just coming in and going to the upper deck.

If someone wants to take the lead and organize another restaurant then please jump in. I'd be glad to get the help. I'm trying to minimize any driving in the evening so we can party.

OK...I'm gowing to through this out there.

Since the weather is not looking like it is going to cooperate, would everyone rather postpone the event to another weekend, maybe later in the month or in February. Feedback is that if its going to be raining the drive portion is really not worth it.

The marketing firm has canceled coming to video due to the weather outlook.

The other choice is we still go with it and maybe do some indoor event in Austin like bowling at the Main Event. Or any sugestions you might have. We would still be on for the evening on 6th St.

Its been a lot of work and prep to get to this point and I just want to make sure with all these cars that we get a chance to drive together and that is a FUN event for everyone to enjoy and remember.

Well I might not be able to make it another time due to my work schedule. Plus I need to know like in less than 24 hrs because I will be required to pay the room. 24 hr cancelleation since we are going up on Friday.

I know Chris is also working overtime so it makes sure he is off this weekend for this event.

We can still have the drive, meet, take pictures talk. It's not all about a 50 mile drive. It's about meeting everyone. Plus others are spending money prepping there cars for this event. Oil changes, car washes, etc that have probably already been spent.

Im still on the fence right now. I understand that people have spent money, but to be honets we're talking 60% chance of Thunderstorms. So I can tell you now without any doubt that Im not doing the drive.

But if everybody is still wants to do this Ill come down because I do want to meet all of you.

But driving in a Thunderstorm around windy roads is just not my idea of fun.

Ethan, you know when they say Thunderstorms it is probably just rain and its probably only part of the day if that. I have been on Nissan Z cruises that were in the rain, and it was still fun. Of course no one could haul butt, but we all just cruised and got to see all the cars. It didn't rain throughout the whole event and we still got pictures.

If we don't cruise, we can easily go to a nice mall or something and hang out the whole day and talk cars!

I will be there either way. Others probably have to much planning already into this and might not stop by the thread to see that it has been changed. I agree nice weather would be better but we don't have to do a long rainy cruise. Maybe a nice cruise down lamar - guad. - congress - and through the downtown area if the rain isn't to bad. 70 degrees and rain..I'm there! Beaded up rain drops on waxed cars can make for nice pictures.
Better yet, lets just move it to Monday when it's expected to ice up.

If we are not going to do the drive then it is sounding like a day trip to me. Drive down in the morning, meet and greet, go have lunch and a few beers, go home. I don’t want to pay for a hotel room just so I can go to the mall in a dif city. The weather looks like it is going to be shit, the film crew all ready canceled, I say we post pone.

I think people are overacting and cancelling. It's only a 50 mile cruise. We can do a lot of things and this by no means is a reason to cancel. I have been to national meets in the rain even in the ICE at times they still had great meets.

Russ I dont think anybody is over reacting. Plus this is far from a national meet. Im just trying to be logical here and use a little commen sense. Its easy for the Austin people right now to say they'll be there. They dont have far to drive. Im just not sure right now if I want to get in my car and drive in Thunderstorms for 3 or 4 hours just to get there and sit in the rain all day. Thats not to say I dont want to meet all of you. Believe me, Im was more excited about this than anyone. This was going to be the meet where we launch AcuraClubTexas.

Mark and I talked today and we just wanted to put it out there as an option. If you want to go then by all means go. We had plans to bring a camera crew and do a great drive. But its been reduced to lets meet and then maybe go bowling or to a mall. So please forgive me if I decide not to come. Things have been rained out before, so to me its really no big deal to reschedule. But again, Im on the fence. Im going to get with all the Dallas guys here and see what they want to do...
