Yup
I thought I already said that.
Another reason-
Revving. We've had one or two bad apples at the Acurazine Irvine BBQ(which happened recently) revving their motors... even when I yelled don't rev. I guarantee you, with 20174280157152 Acura's and other cars, there will be quite a few people revving for no apparent reason. Maybe even burnouts or peeling out. We don't really need the extra attraction from police.. We'd already be easy prey anyways. Having lots of cars , we will probably be holding up traffic, etc.

2. Inviting non-AcuraZine member to join the meet will make the organizing process difficult. For instance, how are we going to know what they're going to bring if they're not members here and participating? For that matter, how are we going to know if they're going to bring anything at all (i.e. freeloaders)?
But what you say is correct. We make a list of people who are attending and what they are bringing to share (if they do share). Now, when a ton of other people not from our community bounce into our meet, they typically expect to be able to join in on what we are doing, which includes our food.
Now I remember why I pack my own lunch and drink....

i agree with that single post..i think most of the locals do too with one exception..if we dont have a sponsor after all, then im sure we all wont have a problem paying our part for fees. i guess we will see what happens when we have our meet on saturday. hopefully we can agree on something..ihave a feeling it might be a little heated

I have no problem pitching in for the park fee.
And this brings up another point... if we do have to pay a fee, how do we collect fees from non-AcuraZine members?

Alright, well I think we've cleared up the point that we want to have this an Azine only meet, with the exception of friends + family. This was established a few pages back with mostly everyone agreeing. Anyway, I've been discussing this meet with "treo" and we thought of a few things that may streamline this meet a bit better, and help all around.
Since this is a community meet, I'd like to get an "Okay", or "Nay" on this idea from all of you.
What I can do is have a dedicated page hosted for this meet that will contain all the main content that is most up to date. This will include a master sign up list of members attending, what car, and location their coming from. Possible caravan locations and meet times. And obviously update meet location/address and time.
Not only would this help everyone who doesn't want to read through pages of why we shouldn't let other forums join, but it doesn't shy away people that just want the info for the meet. (believe me, there are lazy people out there)
Another benefit of having a site would be sponsors. It's a lot more appealing to present "banner" time in exchange for their donation for the meet. This makes it more appealing and professional for them to donate to an organized event. Donations can be used for food, music, raffles, and anything to make the meet a better one for all of us.
Roger (treo) also happens to run a design company and he mentioned that he can design/print T-shirts. This is a far shot, but I thought I'd get some feedback. I was thinking that we could have an official shirt, with for example, AcuraFest 2009 on the front, and then the sponsors on the back of the shirt. Once again, this could help us secure more sponsors for the meet, which means more prizes, donations, and even car goodies. For the shirt design, I can get something figured out with Roger perhaps where we can list these for $15 a piece at the meet that would cover the costs of the shirts, and any extra money could be put towards something else as well. A bit of an abstract idea, but I have a good feeling about it.
As a sponsor, I'm willing to contribute by having the master site built. I'll also help with some of the costs of the T-shirt idea if that happens.
So this is where we are at. I need some feedback or an OKAY to continue. Me and Roger already did some creative brainstorming and came up with these ideas. I personally believe this would help greatly for the meet and hopefully it came across correctly in my writing.

Do it Mike!
Again, once everything is set in stone, I'll check with Meguiars again for sponsorship. Hopefully they will give us much more than few boxes of sample this time

Cool, can you ask her for "special" sponsorship for this meet? They just give us regular sponsorship just like every other small car club meet if I submit the request.

Again I am amazed at how things go with some of you on this thread! I am personally sponsoring the All Cali Acurazine Meet, I am not doing it for personal gain as I own no Shop, nor do I plan to sell anything, nor do I want anything except to go to a great gathering of Acura's and ACURAZINE members perhaps that can grow into a gathering like Bimmerfest, an Event or a meet that is worthy of our Beloved Rides!
As previously stated I posted prior to the everyone getting butt hurt about other Acura's attending. And have been a member of both Forums for years and attending meets and events with both forums, I saw no harm nor fowl. With that said again Lets have a great time at the All Cali ACURAZINE meet.Look forward to seeing everyONE there!
