How was everyone open to Fresno, but not Santa Barbara?? I think SB>FRESNO I would know, I got to SB all the time.

And SD to Fresno = 5 hours and 14 minutes. I wouldn't even go, from OC its about 4 hours....

Its not that bad LIPPSTUH.
Its only 25mins longer than NIPOMO
http://maps.google.com/maps?client=f...e=UTF8&t=h&z=8
SD to Nipomo = 4 hours and 49 minutes

I know you prefer Nipomo & I agree it really isn't that bad.
But to get the best MEET we can out of it it would be better if we had LOCAL AZINERS there to prep the stuff in the weeks before.
Like music/entertainment. (ie. bounce house boxing rings, sports equipment, tables if necessary, speakers,)
Even getting local sponsors.

I hope you will reconsider going, wherever it ends up.

Guys the point of FRESNO is NOT to have it in our backyard or to not have to travel far. The point is to get the best MEET we can out of it. Its always better if we had LOCAL AZINERS there to prep the stuff in the weeks before.
Like music/entertainment. (ie. bounce house boxing rings, sports equipment, tables if necessary, speakers,)
Even getting local sponsors.

Please no one take offense... we are just excited to help.
THE LAST THING WE WANT TO DO IS ALIENATE FELLOW AZINERS.
Puttin it together will take time, & money, and in no way will it be easy. But I envision a GREAT MEET, where other clubs can look up to, & model there meets based on the success of ours.

santa Barbara is a lot nice of course, but people from sac to sb, is like 6.5 hour drive where as people from sd to fresno is 4hr 50mins. huge difference.

The true spirit of the meet is for us all to get together in spot that can accomadate us all. I hope we will all attend where ever it is held I know I will.....must admit Trio you are the man with all you have done to make this happen in Fresno, if all of Cali pull's together it easily be the best meet in the country and the Venue will most Certainly attract AZer's from all around the West Coast. I also have spoken the $500 sponsor WPM, he states also Fresno Acura will be approached also working on if we hit the magic 100 for signups has influence with a local DUB Shop and Import shop that has dyno to support, How cool would be if we could get some free dyno time....

About Fresno, u 4got 2 mention the triple-digit heat. C'mon, cooling fans r not gonna make that much of the difference when they're just blowin' hot air.

lucky you! i wasnt top 7 this year, and i didnt feel driving down there by myself was the smartest option for a 16y/o. i heard the conditions there were hella foggy and wet.

eh if its held in LA i'd still drive. ya seriously pointing out that a 30-45min extra drive is gonna be the dealbreaker for you to go or not? you're already driving ~3-4hrs at a minimum. not voting since i'm going either to whichever venue either way

Freshno is pretty good looking from the pics even that I voted for Nipomo (before the pics were posted) I think we should give the Fresno guys a chance. Let stop the debate here and let the Fresno guys organize this meet. With $500 cash sponsor (from who???), possible of local Fresno Acura dealer sponsor, live music, etc...I think it's a good deal even the weather will be LITTLE hot. If people REALLY want to come to the meet, then doesn't matter where, they will come IMO. 100 people sign up is no problem to get sponsor from local Acura dealer according to Fresno peeps but the real question is how many people actually show up? Judging from the past meets there are approx. 2/3 of the people who sign up will eventually come. If the meet at Fresno turn out not so goo, we can go back to Pismo the year after.
As soon as we have official date, I'll try to get Meguiars sponsor us some samples again like the last 2 meets.

first year i thought was in Pismo as well just a different place.

and i agree with you Lac, i guess it would be nice to have the locals gather up some resources and make it worth the drive, and like you said, if it doesn't pan out to be "the best" all-cali then we can have it back at pismo. even last year the weather was pretty nice, i know a couple pplz went home looking like lobsters! haha

^haha, it wasnt even hot there and i came home with a tan line on my neck, lol. i was pretty damn suprised to see how bold it was the next day when i hit the shower, lol... i wasnt even sitting in the sun THAT long. i've spent hours and hours in the sun in other places and never got a tan line like the one pismo gave me, LOL.

we have a date, we almost have a location. progress is being made

someone mentioned that friday was the deadline for the vote? good. let it be done with. whoever is going to start "THE OFFICIAL" thread, please format it properly with as much info as you can cram into the first post. i liked how last years list was formatted.
